- Open Element Desktop (recommended).

- Authorize with your Google account to log in.
Device Verification
Confirm devices to ensure your conversations remain secure and prevent unauthorized access.
- For sensitive chats, you may be prompted to verify another user's device.
- Verify by comparing emojis or scanning a QR code.
- This confirms you're talking to the right person.

Critical: Your Recovery Key
Your encrypted messages can only be recovered by you. Please read this carefully.
Admins CANNOT Recover Encrypted Chats
Your **Recovery Key** or **Phrase** is the ONLY way to decrypt your message history on new devices. Without it, your history is permanently lost. There are no exceptions.
Why Your Key Matters
Our server uses end-to-end encryption (E2EE), meaning only you and your recipients can read messages.
- Your security key unlocks your encrypted message history.
- If you switch devices, this key is required to read past chats.
- Losing the key means your messages stay locked forever.
Setting Up Secure Backup
- After first login, Element will prompt you to "Set up Secure Backup".
- Choose to **Generate a Recovery Key** (Recommended) or create your own passphrase.
- The generated key is a long, secure code created for you.
- CRITICAL: Save your key or phrase immediately.
Best Practices
- Store your Recovery Key/Phrase in a password manager.
- Keep a printed or written copy in a separate, secure physical location.
- Never share your Recovery Key or Phrase with anyone, including admins.
QR Code Login
Quickly sign in on new devices using your active Element Desktop session.
Generate QR Code
In Element Desktop, click your profile avatar, go to All Settings → Sessions. Click the "Show QR code" button to link a new device.
Scan with New Device
On your new device (e.g., Element X on mobile), select "Sign in with QR Code" and scan the code displayed on your desktop.
Verify Connection
Confirm the pairing on both devices. Your encryption keys will be securely transferred automatically.

Download a Client

Connect to Server
Enter matrix.celermedia.com as your homeserver.
Authenticate
Sign in using your celerMedia Google Account.
Backup Your Key
IMMEDIATELY set up and back up your Recovery Key.
After You Log In
Once you're connected, here’s how to dive into the celerMedia space.
Set Up Your Profile
Add a display name and avatar in your client’s settings.
Find People
Search for users by their Matrix ID (e.g., @user:celermedia.com).
Join Rooms
Browse public rooms or join team rooms like #general:celermedia.com.
Explore Features
Try voice/video calls, share files, use threads, or create private rooms.
